This is my go to Salad Dressing…everyone loves it when they are looking for that comfort salad that says home! Plus it goes with just about anything you are serving.
If you are looking for Creamy and Dreamy…well you just found it. This Creamy Ranch Dressing is great on salads and it makes a great dip. I have to say…once you give this one a shot…you probably won’t think so much about that little packet any more. This one is creamy and fresh and just wakes up a salad. Sure hope you enjoy. I have to tell you that I used something I never used before in this dressing. I was going to make my buttermilk like I usually do by adding a half of a lemon’s juice in 1/2 cup of whole milk and let it sit for 10 minutes…but I decided to use Buttermilk Powder that I had bought because I wanted to experiment with a few different ways to make biscuits. Since most of us don’t use an entire quart of buttermilk the powder made a lot of sense. So I took a heaping tablespoon of it and mixed it with 1/3 cup of milk…well it was pretty think but I decided not to dilute it much more and added it to the mixtures. Well it really made a different in the consistency and the flavor and everyone loved it. So you can experiment with this or just use the buttermilk of your choice…any way you make it it will be delish!
Now this Creamy Balsamic is yummy and is basically the Balsamic Dressing above with some creaminess added. So if you want to make a plain dressing and creamy…just make the base…split it in to jars and add the creamy ingredients to the one…everyone is happy with the choices!
Who doesn’t love Thousand Island Dressing with just the right amount of crunchy pickle relish : ) Even the kids will love this one. One suggestion…if you don’t want to shake for a minute or two…to make things easier…whip up your mayo and sour cream into smooth mixture before you add it to the Mason Jar.
I highly recommend that you mix your Mayo and Sour Cream together till smooth right in the jar before you add all of the other ingredients…it cuts down on the shaking lol!!! I should have said that you can stir stir stir too!
Always remember to SHAKE before using!
Remember…these recipes are flexible…if you want to add something you love or subtract something you don’t like…simply do it : )
I also want to note that my family LOVES Balsamic Vinegar…your family might like a little less…remember…you can always add but you can’t subtract!

Creamy Ranch Dressing
Ingredients:
1/2 cup full fat Buttermilk
1/4 cup Sour Cream
1/4 cup of Greek Yogurt
1/3 cup of Mayo…I use homemade or Hellman’s because it’s good and it uses free range eggs which makes the chickens happy!
1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup of olive oil
1 heaping tablespoon of fresh chives…if you don’t have chives…you can substitute with thinly sliced scallions (greens only)
1 heaping tablespoon of your favorite herbs(blend them to equal 1 heaping tablespoon)…use 1 …2 or more…I highly recommend Parsley, Tarragon, Thyme, Rosemary, Dill…you can use dry or fresh (if you are using fresh…mince very finely). Like I said…use the ones you like but I do suggest to use at least 2 : )
1 -2 cloves of garlic minced fine or the best thing to do is use a microplane grater…it works perfectly and no one will get an unexpected bit of raw garlic! I use it for MANY recipes!
