Hello, my friends! We are back with another week of ALDI Finds…and this week ALDI is helping us welcome Fall into our kitchens and homes!
The new Finds arriving September 2 include beautiful Crofton cast iron cookware…cozy pumpkins and mushrooms…wonderful seasonal foods and plenty of affordable snacks for Game Day.
We are also trying something new this week!
With football season beginning and basketball season right behind it, I looked through some of ALDI’s most affordable chips…crackers…pretzels and popcorn to decide which ones appear to be worth adding to your Game Day snack table.
Of course, we also have another delicious vegetarian recipe for under $15…Crispy Cheesy Jalapeño Corn Fritter Bites! They are crispy…cheesy…a little spicy and perfect for an easy dinner or Game Day treat.
So grab your quarter and reusable bags…and let’s see what we can find at ALDI this week!
Please remember that prices and availability can vary by location. ALDI Finds are available for a limited time and some popular items may disappear quickly.

FABULOUS CROFTON KITCHEN FINDS
Friends…this might be the section that gets me into the most trouble this week!
Crofton is bringing out an entire collection of beautiful Fall cookware and kitchen helpers. These are not pieces that simply look pretty and then disappear into a cabinet. Several of them are genuine kitchen workhorses…and I can speak from experience!

Crofton 30cm Cast Iron Dutch Oven
$29.99
I have two Crofton Cast Iron Dutch Ovens and use them almost every single day!
They are wonderful for soups…stews…sauces…pasta dishes…baking bread and all of those warm, comforting meals we start craving as soon as Fall arrives.
At $29.99, this is my number one kitchen pick of the week. I already own two and would happily add a third one to the family!

Crofton Cast Iron Grill Pan
$19.99
This grill pan gets excellent marks from me too!
It cooks like a charm and gives vegetables…grilled cheese…tofu…paninis and so many other foods those beautiful little grill marks without having to step outside.
The cream gradient and forest green colors are especially pretty for Fall. This is another piece that can work hard in your kitchen while looking lovely sitting on the stove.

Crofton Cast Iron Saucepan
$19.99
This one is officially on my list!
It is the kind of saucepan you might simply leave on the stove twenty four hours a day because it is both useful and beautiful.
Use it for sauces…soups…oatmeal…rice…warming leftovers or making a cozy little pot of something delicious. The cream and forest green choices fit perfectly into a warm Fall kitchen.

Crofton Ceramic Bowl Assortment
$9.99 each
These colors are absolutely perfect for Fall!
The assortment includes useful bowl and colander styles in warm cranberry…green and blue shades. They can help with mixing…prepping…serving and even sitting on the counter filled with fresh apples.
Useful kitchen pieces that double as pretty Fall accents are always welcome in my house!

Crofton Wood or Cast Iron Trivet
$6.99 each
The holidays are coming…and these are such useful little helpers for family dinners and gatherings.
Place one beneath a hot Dutch oven…casserole dish or saucepan and bring the food right to the table without worrying about damaging the surface underneath.
The assortment includes cast iron…expandable wood and round magnetic styles. At $6.99, these could also make a thoughtful little hostess gift!
Â
Â
ADORABLE FALL DECOR!
These are the little touches that can make a room feel warm and cozy without requiring an entire decorating overhaul.

Kirkton House Jumbo Checkered Pumpkin
$14.99
Now THIS is a pumpkin!
The oversized checkered design can make an entire Fall statement all by itself. Place it on a chair…bench…sofa…bed or tucked beside a basket of cozy blankets.
You do not need twenty tiny decorations when one fabulous jumbo pumpkin can walk into the room and handle the job!

Kirkton House Set of 3 Mushrooms
$9.99
Three sweet little mushrooms for under ten dollars!
These would be adorable tucked into a Fall mantel…bookshelf…tiered tray or woodland centerpiece. They add that cozy cottagecore feeling without screaming Halloween, so you can enjoy them throughout the entire season.
The assortment also includes acorn styles, depending on what your store receives.

Kirkton House Toasted Pumpkin Pecan 3 Wick Candle
$4.99
Toasted pumpkin and pecan sounds like someone bottled the scent of a cozy Fall afternoon!
Light this one while you are making dinner…curling up with a book or pretending the laundry pile in the other room does not exist. Lol!
At $4.99 for a three wick candle, this feels like a very affordable way to bring a little Autumn atmosphere into the house.

Crofton Glass Pumpkin Dome
$19.99
This one is beautiful!
The glass pumpkin dome comes with either a glass or golden stem and can become a gorgeous centerpiece for the entire season.
Use it to cover a small cake…cookies…cheese…Fall treats or simply display it on a kitchen island or dining table. Even when it is empty, it still looks like a lovely piece of Fall decor.
This could carry you from the first hint of Autumn right through Thanksgiving.
FALL FLAVORS ARE ARRIVING
Now we are heading into the food aisles…and ALDI is definitely ready for Fall!
We have pumpkin…salted caramel…maple…butternut squash and a few wonderfully unexpected flavor combinations.

Specially Selected Pumpkin Feta or Beet Root Goat Cheese Flatbreads
$3.99 each
These are not your ordinary frozen pizzas!
The Pumpkin Feta Flatbread combines pumpkin…feta and caramelized onions, while the Beet Root Goat Cheese Flatbread brings together colorful beets…creamy goat cheese and marinated tomatoes.
They could make an easy lunch…light dinner or interesting addition to a Fall appetizer board. Slice one into smaller pieces and suddenly it feels a little fancy!
Berryhill Salted Caramel Apple or Pumpkin Maple Spread
$2.99 each
ALDI has somehow managed to put Fall into a jar!
Choose from Salted Caramel Apple or Pumpkin Maple…although choosing may be the hardest part.
Spread either one over toast…biscuits…waffles or warm muffins. Stir a spoonful into oatmeal or yogurt…serve it with a cheese board…or warm it slightly and drizzle it over vanilla ice cream.

Specially Selected Fall Harvest Macaroni and Cheese
$2.99
Regular macaroni and cheese is already comfort food…but this Fall version adds pumpkin and butternut squash to the cheddar sauce.
It is an inexpensive pantry find for one of those chilly evenings when you want something warm and cozy without making an entire meal from scratch.
Add roasted vegetables…a salad or the protein of your choice and dinner can be ready without much fuss.

Baker’s Corner Pumpkin Quick Bread and Muffin Mix
$2.49
This is the kind of shortcut I am happy to take!
The mix is made with real pumpkin and can be baked as a loaf or turned into muffins. Add chopped pecans…chocolate chips or a simple cinnamon topping if you want to dress it up.
Best of all…your kitchen gets that wonderful Fall baking smell without flour covering every available surface. Lol!
GAME DAY SNACKS…ARE THEY WORTH IT?
Football season is here…basketball season is right behind it…and that means we are going to need SNACKS!
This week I looked at some of ALDI’s most affordable chips…crackers…pretzels and popcorn to see which ones appear to give us the most Game Day value.
These recommendations are based on price…package size…versatility and how easily each snack can help fill a Game Day table.

Clancy’s Hint of Lime Tortilla Chips
$2.39 for 13 ounces
VERDICT: WORTH IT
You get a full 13 ounce bag for $2.39, making these a very good value for a Game Day snack.
The lime flavor makes them tasty enough to eat alone, but they would also be delicious with salsa…guacamole…queso or a creamy jalapeño dip.

Clancy’s Bite Size White Round Tortilla Chips
$2.39 for 13 ounces
VERDICT: WORTH IT
These are a practical choice when you are serving several different dips. The smaller round shape makes them easy to dip…easy to portion and less likely to break apart in your hand.
Add two or three inexpensive dips and this one bag can help create an entire little snack station.

Savoritz Turtles Baked Extra Cheddar Snack Crackers
$4.39 for 19 ounces
VERDICT: WORTH IT
These are the most expensive snack on our list, but you also receive a generous 19 ounce package.
The fun turtle shape makes them especially appealing for children, and the large package should fill a nice sized snack bowl. They would also be easy to divide into individual cups for a party.

Clancy’s Original Pretzel Slims
$2.45 for 8 ounces
VERDICT: MAYBE
These thin and crispy pretzels are wonderful for dipping and would work especially well with hummus…mustard or a creamy cheese dip.
However, the package is smaller than several of our other snack choices. If you are feeding a larger crowd and looking for the most food for your money, one of ALDI’s larger traditional pretzel bags may give you more value.

Clancy’s Movie Theater Butter Microwave Popcorn
$4.95 for 12 bags
GLUTEN FREE AND MADE WITH 100 PERCENT WHOLE GRAIN
VERDICT: WORTH IT
Twelve bags of popcorn for under five dollars is excellent Game Day value!
You can pop a fresh, warm bag whenever the snack bowl starts getting low instead of putting out one enormous bowl that may become cold or stale before everyone gets to it.
This is my overall Game Day value winner of the week!

Clancy’s Original Kettle Chips
$1.89 for 8 ounces
VERDICT: WORTH IT
A bag of crunchy kettle chips for under two dollars is an easy yes!
The original flavor is a crowd pleaser that can be served with almost any dip…sandwich…slider or hot appetizer. This is a particularly smart choice when you do not know everyone’s favorite flavor.

Clancy’s White Cheddar Cheese Popcorn
$1.95 for 6.75 ounces
GLUTEN FREE AND MADE WITH 100 PERCENT WHOLE GRAIN
VERDICT: WORTH IT
This is a flavorful and slightly lighter alternative to a bowl of chips.
You get that cheesy…salty crunch for under two dollars, and it is another gluten free snack option for the table.

Clancy’s Sea Salt and Vinegar Kettle Chips
$1.89 for 8 ounces
VERDICT: MAYBE
The price is very good, but salt and vinegar is one of those flavors people either love or leave sitting in the bowl.
If your family enjoys that bold vinegar flavor, they are certainly worth $1.89. If you are serving a mixed group, the Original Kettle Chips may be the safer crowd pleasing choice.
MY GAME DAY VALUE WINNER
The Clancy’s Movie Theater Butter Microwave Popcorn is my overall winner because you receive twelve gluten free bags for under five dollars.
The two tortilla chip varieties are very close behind because each 13 ounce bag costs only $2.39 and can be paired with so many different dips.
Always check the current package labels if you are shopping for specific allergens or strict vegetarian ingredients, particularly with cheese flavored snacks.

OUR VEGETARIAN RECIPE FOR UNDER $15
Crispy Cheesy Jalapeño Corn Fritter Bites with Sweet Scallion Cream Cheese Dip
Approximately $12.49 for the entire platter
When you are craving a hot and crispy snack with a little kick, these Cheesy Jalapeño Corn Fritter Bites are ready to come to the rescue!
Sweet corn, fresh jalapeños, scallions and plenty of melty pepper jack cheese are tucked into every golden little fritter. Then we pair them with a cool and creamy scallion dip that has a touch of sweetness, a splash of lime and just enough heat to keep everyone coming back for another bite.
These are easy enough for a casual family snack but fun enough to serve on game day, movie night or whenever friends stop by. Best of all, the entire generous platter comes together for under $15 with a little help from ALDI!
Recipe at a Glance
Prep Time:Â 15 minutes Cook Time:Â 15 minutes Total Time:Â Approximately 30 minutes Yield:Â Approximately 16 to 18 small fritters Serves:Â 4 to 6
Ingredients for the Jalapeño Corn Fritters
- 2 cups corn kernels, thawed if frozen or thoroughly drained if canned
- 1 large fresh jalapeño, seeded and finely diced
- 2 scallions, thinly sliced
- ¾ cup shredded pepper jack cheese
- â…” cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 3 to 4 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil for frying
Ingredients for the Sweet Scallion Cream Cheese Dip
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 scallion, very finely sliced
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
- ½ to 1 teaspoon hot sauce, according to taste
- Pinch of salt
Make the Sweet Scallion Cream Cheese Dip
- Place the softened cream cheese and sour cream in a small bowl.
- Stir or whisk until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Add the scallion, lime juice, honey, hot sauce and a small pinch of salt.
- Mix until everything is completely combined. Taste and add another drop of hot sauce or squeeze of lime if desired.
- Cover the dip and place it in the refrigerator while you prepare the fritters. This gives all those delicious flavors a little time to mingle!
Make the Jalapeño Corn Fritters
- Place the corn on a clean kitchen towel or several layers of paper towels. Pat it thoroughly dry. Removing the extra moisture will help the fritters become crisp instead of soggy.
- Add the corn, finely diced jalapeño, scallions and shredded pepper jack cheese to a large mixing bowl.
- In a separate small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt and black pepper.
- Sprinkle the flour mixture over the corn and gently toss until the vegetables and cheese are evenly coated.
- In another small bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
- Pour the egg mixture over the corn mixture. Stir just until everything is combined.
- Allow the batter to rest for approximately 5 minutes. It should be thick, chunky and scoopable. It should not pour like pancake batter.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Scoop approximately 3 tablespoons of the corn mixture into the hot skillet for each fritter. Gently press each mound with the back of the spoon to form a small round fritter.
- Cook for approximately 2 to 3 minutes on the first side, or until the bottom is deeply golden and the edges look crisp.
- Carefully turn each fritter and cook for another 2 minutes, or until the second side is golden and the center is cooked through.
- Transfer the finished fritters to a paper towel lined plate or a wire cooling rack. Add a little more oil to the skillet between batches as needed.
- Arrange the hot fritters on a platter and serve them with the chilled Sweet Scallion Cream Cheese Dip.
A Few Helpful Fritter Tips
- Dice the Jalapeño Finely
- We are not cutting the jalapeños in half or stuffing them. The jalapeño is finely diced and mixed throughout the batter so every fritter gets a little bit of fresh pepper flavor.
- Adjust the Heat for Your Family
- Remove the seeds and pale inner ribs for a milder fritter. For more heat, leave a few seeds in the mixture or use a second jalapeño.
- Dry That Corn
- Wet corn is one of the biggest causes of soft fritters. Take an extra minute to pat the kernels dry before adding them to the bowl.
- Check the Batter Before Cooking
- The batter should be thick enough to remain in a mound when placed in the skillet. If it seems too wet or spreads immediately, stir in one additional tablespoon of flour. If it seems dry and will not hold together when pressed, add one tablespoon of milk.
- Make One Test Fritter
- Cook one fritter before filling the skillet. This gives you a chance to adjust the consistency, seasoning and cooking temperature.
- Do Not Crowd the Skillet
- Leave a little room between the fritters so their edges can become wonderfully crisp. Cooking them in two or three batches will give you much better results.
- Watch the Heat
- Medium heat is perfect. If the oil is too hot, the outside will brown before the center cooks. If it is not hot enough, the fritters will absorb too much oil.
- Keep Them Warm
- If you are cooking several batches, place the finished fritters on a wire rack over a baking sheet in a 225 degree oven. This will keep them warm and crisp until serving time.
Can I Make Them Ahead?
The dip can be prepared up to one day in advance and kept covered in the refrigerator.
The fritters are at their crispiest when freshly cooked, but leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat them in a 375 degree oven or air fryer until they are hot and crisp again.
Try not to reheat them in the microwave. They will still taste good, but you will lose those irresistible crunchy edges!
Serve these little golden fritters while they are piping hot with plenty of that cool, creamy dip nearby…then watch how quickly the entire platter disappears!

WHAT’S IN MY CART
Most of my cart this week is dedicated to our Jalapeño Corn Fritters!
I will be picking up extra sharp white cheddar…scallions…sour cream…cream cheese…jalapeños…corn and Pepper Jack cheese.
I am also restocking a few of our regular groceries with four boxes of seltzer…pasta and cottage cheese.
As for that beautiful Crofton saucepan…the glass pumpkin dome and those adorable little mushrooms…
They are staying on my wish list for now while I try to behave myself! Lol!
