Just a suggestion, but we have a local Goodwill OUTLET store where they sell overstock or things that didn’t sell at the regular Goodwill store! They have rows of big bins which they fill with all manner of “stuff”. Things aren’t displayed like in a regular thrift store, instead you dig through the bins to see what’s available, and they weigh it all at the checkout. They charge 1.50 per POUND!
I’ve purchased everything from a real American Girl doll to dishes to electronics…just about anything a regular Goodwill store sells! They have bins of shoes and boots…I’ve painted up (and resold) pointy-toe shoes to look like witch shoes for Halloween and used boots as planters. I purchased a hand-made crochet tablecloth that fits my seats-8 dining room table. I’ve purchased wood cutting boards and wood counter-top knife blocks that I’ve painted and stenciled. And odds and ends of kitchen items. Oh, and you can find new clothing sometimes with the original store price tag still attached. After washing or even dry cleaning. you’ve still got a bargain.
It’s not a store for prissy people…you have to dig through things to find the treasures. Things are not sorted…you might find clothing, toys, golf clubs and dishes all in the same bin. Some people wear gloves, but I’ve never felt a need to. They remove a row of bins and return with newly-filled bins quite frequently, so there’s a big turn-over of items. Check Goodwill online or your local phone book to see if there’s a Goodwill outlet near you. Just an idea for the most budget-minded
