It’s time for a Quick and Easy DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornament! You won’t believe how simple they are to make and how inexpensive they are. If you have a few hours you could literally make enough to decorate a whole tree! They have a true Farmhouse Style to them that I think even Joanna Gaines would approve of them.
We start out with our Supplies which are small 3/4″ wooden triangles (I made mine 4 inches in height), sliced branches that will fit on the wood you are using, regular twine, hot glue, scissors and an embellishment for the top (I used metal stars).
Trace out the size triangles you would like and cut them.
Time to sand them smooth.
Cut a piece of twine the length you prefer to hang the ornament and then attach it to the back of your triangle with s dab of hot glue.
Now with another little dab of hot glue… attach your twine to the back of the tree.
Time to start wrapping. Be sure to pull the cord taught… keep wrapping for a little bit and then…
put a little dab of hot glue to secure the twine and repeat that every 12 or so wraps.
Finish to the bottom and secure the twine to the back of the tree.
Now with your hot glue… secure the little tree stump to the bottom middle of your tree.
Now all that is left to do is…
Hang them on the tree!!!

Love how easy it is to make these, Andrea and they are super cute! Pinned 🙂
Hey there Marie! How are you. These are SUPER Easy… with a few hours you could have a tree : ) You could also wrap them in different yarns if you would like color!!! So happy you enjoyed it. Sending hugs and wishes for a fabulous day!
What a sweet, easy Christmas DIY project. Thank you for sharing. I wonder if you can find wood triangles at the craft store?
Hi there Carol! How are you. They might have some at a Michael’s or Joann’s but if you can’t find them… they are really easy to cut with even a hand saw. You could even get balsa wood at the craft store and cut them with an exact-o blade (aka box cutter) the balsa wood is really soft! You will find it where the other unfinished wood pieces are… if not ask… they do have it. Let me know if that works out for you… if you can’t find them… send me your address to thecottagemarket@gmail.com and I will ship some to you (I MEAN IT : ) happy to help! Sending hugs and wishes for a wonderful day!
Love this, Andrea… I’m going to add a starfish to the top to give it a coastal look… maybe even use cotton twine! Pinned to three boards (scheduled)
Hey there Julie! How are you! That is such a great idea… it will look totally coastal that way : ) Thank you for pinning…you are a sweetheart! Sending hugs and wishes for a fabulous day!!!
