Trips to the beach with the family are a blast. But there’s always room for improvement. I’ve gathered 10 Quick And Easy Beach Hacks You Will Use This Summer that will ensure you and your family have the best vacation! Simple items will take on new purposes and leave you happy out there in the sun.
Keep Your Valuables Safe
No one likes to mess around with a dirty diaper – even more so if it’s not your child and just some random soiled mess you find. This is the exact kind of logic used in this beach hack. Get yourself a clean diaper and inside put your phone, keys, anything you don’t want someone to just snag. No one’s going to steal a ‘dirty’ diaper.
Take Your Fitted Sheet to the Beach
Having a sand-free place to sit may seem impossible at the beach, but not anymore! After you find a place to camp out, stretch out your fitted sheet. Using either bags of sand or your own bags and cooler, place one in each corner. This will keep the sheet in place while you enjoy a sand-free zone to eat, read, or just enjoy the sun.
Pack a Cheap Plastic Shower Curtain as Well
If you have little ones that you really don’t want near the open water but still want them to have fun in the water, a shower curtain will be a big help to you. Dig a hole in the sand – that’s round and deep enough to hold water. With the shower curtain open, place it in the hole, flatten in around the hole, and use heavy bags to hold it in place. Fill with buckets of water. Tada! You have your very own kiddie pool that’s away from the ocean and close to you so you can keep a close eye on your child.
Protect Your Feet From Burns
When your family members take off their sandals, turn them upside down so that the soles are facing up. This will help keep the side where your foot goes, from heating up as much as it would if it were face up. Imagine how hot heated sandals are on your feet, you don’t wanna accidentally slip one of those hot flip flops onto your child’s foot!
Sandwich Bags are Great for Your Gadgets
Being at the beach means something you don’t want to get wet, is going to get wet. It seems inevitable. Be a step ahead with this super simple beach hack. Place your smartphone into a ziplock bag and seal it closed. You’ll still be able to use it, but you’ll have less to worry about when your kiddos hop out of the water and head back to your spot on the beach.
Freeze Your Bottles of Water
When enjoying a day out in the sun, nothing is better than drinking some nice cold water. Your bottles of water straight from the fridge are only going to remain cold for a little while before they heat right up. But if you freeze your bottles of water, they’ll thaw out in the sun, meaning you’ll have colder water, longer.
Apple Cider Vinegar Works Wonders
In your beach bag, keep a spray bottled filled with apple cider vinegar. After a day at the beach, you or one of your kids might have a spot where they’ve gotten a bit too much sun or their sunblock stopped working. Spritz a little of the apple cider vinegar on the sunburn and the irritation will fade away in no time!
Use a Shoe Organizer in the Back of the Vehicle
Hang a shoe organizer off the back of the seat – so the organizer is hanging in the back of the vehicle. This is a great way to pack items you need for the beach. Sunblock, sand toys, etc – it’s all there and accounted for. It’s great to either keep in the back if you’re frequenting the beach, or you can take it out and roll it up, so the next time you’re going to the beach, you just grab it and hang it back up – making you ready to go!
Baby Powder Helps with Sand
No one wants their car full of sand. Before anyone steps foot in the vehicle, sprinkle baby powder on everyone’s arms and legs. They’ll be able to then wipe the sand right out of themselves! It’ll fall to the ground instead of filling your car seats.
Keep Cool with Sponges
Don’t feel silly wearing a sponge necklace – you’ll be the coolest on the beach. Cut some plain kitchen sponges into pieces (no more than four pieces per sponge). Using a metal yarn needle, thread the sponges onto the yarn. Make sure it’s long enough to go over your head and hang on your upper-chest. Once it’s wet, the sponges will hold the water and act as your own cooler. Once it dries, add more water!
Want to stay in the know? I’d really love that! (((HUGS))) |
