Come and check out some Shopping Hacks for Whole Foods… they will make your shopping experience fabulous and add to your savings!
Shopping at Whole Foods can be a little bit pricey but their quality is truly amazing. If you familiarize yourself with all the different brands… the vegetable and fruit selections you should do just find when you are shopping there. It’s a store where you can truly shop and know that you have the best selection available to you to provide fabulous… healthy and delicious for your family. Let’s take a look at some shopping hacks for Whole Foods.
Shop The Store Brand
Whole Foods, like most stores, carry their own line of products. They offer the 365 brand with peanut butter, coffee, and more that is comparable to the higher priced brand names.
If you haven’t tried their 365 products, give them a try and you’ll see that not only do they cost less they are also as good if not better quality than the others they carry.
Head To The Bulk Bins
Always make sure when shopping at Whole Foods to compare prices per ounce as you would in any other grocery store.
The bulk bins offer some great deals, plus when the shelf carries 5 lbs of something you want, you can just head over to the bulk bins and grab 1 or 2 lbs of the same thing for less, this comes in quite handy especially if you don’t need 5 lbs.
Try It Before You Buy It
Unlike most stores you can ask a store employee to let you try anything and they will.
If you’re looking for an alternative sweetener to sugar, but are worried about the after taste in coffee, ask to try it first. They will even let you try it in coffee at the coffee bar so you’re sure you get the right one for your tastes.
That makes shopping at Whole Foods a sure thing because you know if you like it before you buy it.
A little side note here… I love to navigate the salad and hot bar to see if there is something new that I would like to try. Sometimes there are like 4 new things… so I just make myself a little tasting box with just a scoop of each new item. This way I don’t waste money on stuff that I or my family might not care for. I did it just the other day… they had these Buffalo Spice Soy Chunks which I had to try … so I got a few of them and they were GONE before I got home and I SOOOOOOO wish I had gotten more. I told my family about them but I had to admit that I couldn’t resist them lol!!! It’s just a great way to experience new tastes without spending a lot. Then whey you go back you will know what to get for everyone.
Buy Bulk Spices Not Nuts
While buying bulk spices at Whole Foods is a good buy, buying bulk nuts isn’t.
You can find bulk nuts cheaper elsewhere.
Just be conscious and check the pricing per ounce to make sure you aren’t over paying for anything.
Become A Prime Member
Since Amazon purchased Whole Foods it pays to be a Prime member.
They offer discounts exclusively for Prime members, so if you’re one watch for those deals.
If you aren’t a Prime member and you shop at Whole Foods often, you might want to join.
Avoid Impulse Buying
We all know that there are a lot of high end priced items at Whole Foods… so if you are looking to save money and work on a budget… it is best to stay away from the Wine and Cheese Sections… Coffee Bars and other areas that you know that are going to break the bank.
Bring Your Own Bags
Simple by bringing your own reusable bags you will save $.10 on every bag… plus you are doing your part to help the environment. I know it doesn’t sound like much but it truly adds up and saves those land fills from 100’s of thousands of more plastic bags! It’s all good and they are actually fun to collect and make a statement.
Pick Up A Circular
Before you start shopping… be sure to pick up a circular in the front of the store. In it you will find all of their specials of the week to help guide you to more savings.
Yummy Bread
I am adding this from personal experience. The homemade breads at Whole Foods are excellent and the variety is awesome. A large loaf usually runs about $4.99 and many times lower. I personal love buying the Challah Bread that is picture perfect for French Toast. You can cut it the thickness you love and it makes a great Budget Friendly Breakfast for Dinner Treat. They also have mini loaves of different varieties so you can mix and match. The other thing I love is that they stay fresh longer and they freeze like a charm. Just my two cents : )
Buy Local
Many Whole Foods buy directly from Local Produce Farms. So when you purchase those veggies… you are supporting your Local Farmers which is truly a wonderful thing. Plus they are delish!
2 Hour Free Delivery
If you are a Prime member and live in one of the select cities and have a Whole Foods Market you’ll want to take advantage of this deal.
You can order your groceries and pay without leaving home and have them delivered straight to your door for free in just 2 hours.
Shopping at Whole Foods doesn’t have to be expensive or confusing. Just follow the hacks provided and you’ll be a smart Whole Foods Shopper.
