Discover what cottagecore decor is and how to create a cozy, vintage-inspired home filled with charm, warmth, and timeless beauty.
Hi there friends…
Have you been hearing more and more about Cottagecore and wondering what it really means? You’re not alone. That’s exactly why I’ve updated this post, because this dreamy style continues to capture hearts everywhere.
So close your eyes for a moment…
Imagine strolling along a quiet English countryside lane, wildflowers gently swaying in the breeze and gardens overflowing with nature’s beauty. Picture climbing roses winding their way up wooden trellises, soft linen dresses fluttering as you pass by, and cottages with thatched roofs and pastel-painted doors, each one finished with a simple wreath of baby’s breath and twigs.
As you wander closer, the scent of warm blackberry jam and freshly baked scones fills the air… and suddenly everything feels slower, softer, and more meaningful.
Stepping inside a cottage like this feels like being wrapped in comfort and a big hug fom Nonna. The spaces are warm and welcoming, filled with timeworn furniture, flea market finds, and vintage treasures that tell a story. Fresh flowers sit casually in simple vases, floral wallpaper and gentle stripes add charm, and handmade ceramics and well-loved china bring it all together.
If your heart longs for cobblestone paths, cozy corners, and the nostalgic beauty of an old-world farmhouse, then you’re going to fall in love with the enchanting world of Cottagecore. Now be sure to have your favorite tea and teacup in hand!
Rustic Doors
Adding reclaimed doors to your home not only adds a rustic look but it also adds personality and charm.
Open Shelving
Show off that pretty pantry food on some opening shelving. Use wire baskets, wicker baskets, pretty bowls, a turntable, mason jars and more. Let your staples add charm to your Kitchen space. Pretty Labeled items are fabulous, fresh produce, bottles of your favorite spices, vinegars, oils and more. If you are a pasta lover and adore the different shapes and colors, they are the perfect element to place on the shelving along with beans, candy and more. I love when you can make what you all ready have work for your decor and as you purchase new items it will change up the look.
Pot Rack
Show off your pans! If you are lucky enough to have copper pans they totally shine in a Cottagecore Kitchen along with all of your other pots and pans displayed nicely on a rack or like Julia Child did on her famous pegboard. Once again… not big cost… just using what you have in a new way!
Useful Clutter
This is an amazing way to add a bit of the Cottagecore Clutter look fabulour.., each piece is something you use and has purpose… a win win! How amazing does this look!

Loved your cottagecore read!!! Love the ideas too!! Thanks!!
Beautiful photos and very inspiring ideas – I’m an English woman living in a French country farmhouse and this is a little like how I’ve styled my home! I think lots of French influences are in this style of decor too. The French rural folk love shabby antique furniture, lots of flowers and pretty porcelain.
Hi there Kerrie! How are you on the other side of the Pond! Hope all is well with you and yours 🙂 Thank you so much for your input. I am honored to have you visit!!!! I wish you a wonderful day filled with all things magical… but living where you do… it must be magical every day!!!! Hugs…

Hi there Jean and WELCOME!!! So happy you found us!!!! Glad to have you as part of the TCM FAMILY!!! Sending hugs and wishes for a wonderful day!
Wish I could send photos because I just remodeled/redecorated my French Normandy home in my fav pinks, teals and whites. New wallpaper in every room, antiques mixed with traditional furniture, my kitchen backsplash is to die for…handcrafted teal mermaid tail design with over sized teal sofa and blush velvet chairs/stools. I simply used my strong intuition and get raves. I entertain much more now. It ended up French/English cottage GLAM coastal …and works. Who knew I was a Maximalist? lol
What a wonderful article — I enjoyed the article and the photos. Thank you. Each room depicts a space that looks happy and well lived. It is so nice to realize that you are smiling with delight as you read the article and enjoy the views.
I’ll have to admit that I like the controlled clutter of Cottagecore. It is comforting to be surrounded by beloved belongings (and the memories) of the past. It reminds me so much of my grandma although I think that more than a conscious effort on her part, her decor just evolved.
