Hi there! Hope you are all enjoying your day. I do believe the Fall Season is really here since the air is cool and I could even see my breath last night! LOVE IT!!!! So turning that oven on is not a bad thing any more…let’s see
What’s Cooking Baking…
There’s a reason why I suddenly craved this fabulous delight and the reason was that I was furious…
I am someone that has to have the tv on in the background when I work…so there was an old episode of Bobby Flay Throwdown on (even though I love Bobby Flay he infuriates me in this show)! If you haven’t watched it…they find people that have a specialty…something that they have worked years on establishing in their bakeries or restaurants…a creation that FILLS them with PRIDE & JOY and the Food Network approaches them with a “Special” deal…so these thrilled individuals are incredibly happy and over the moon till all of a sudden they are about to tape with family, friends and customers then… “He” appears in their establishment for a THROWDOWN!!!! Ahhhhh but it is one sided…Bobby and his “helpers” (trained chefs) get to examine the food first and then with the help of the Food Network Kitchen (could you imagine having that behind you) they get to develop their version! As we said in school…NOT FAIR!!!!
Well they visited this charming Bakery called
in Boston MA
The owner Eunice who is just a complete DOLL, someone that you simply adore immediately after meeting her.
Long story short…she has an extraordinary cake…she hollows out the cake…fills it with custard and then puts the hollowed-out squares on top …use gobs of custard and an infusion of orange & thyme
WOW!
…even though I never tasted the cake I sure wanted to.
Well Bobby has lost 53 times and won 29…sadly to say he won this one and I was SOOOOO upset I had to vent to you! Even though this happened last year lol!!! The ending is not sad because this bakery has been Best of Boston and it now has 2 locations!!!! It is beloved and known far and wide. The proprietors also adopted a precious little boy (looks like he enjoys his home made bread)
during the process and all is good in the world for them! Their Boston Cream Pie is thriving!!! Yay!
By the way Bobby…your style if fabulous…you make a mean salsa and the mini muffins and chutney at your restaurant Mesa Grill are incredible(even a vegetarian can find something to eat there :)…your new show where you help restaurant owners succeed makes me smile and I applaud you for that…you are a great guy but WOW do you get me crazy with the Throwdowns…I actively ROOT against and your “helpers” (that is not what I really call them lol!!!!…(I am sure they are very nice people in “real” life) you and get me infuriated…stick to the million things you do incredibly well ok! : )
Friends…thank you for letting me vent! Never thought it would take this long to get to
