A Little Note From Our Cottage
Many of you have been asking how everyone is doing, and I am very happy to report that my son is doing much better. His toe did have to be amputated, but he has now completed his six weeks of antibiotics…and no one is happier about that than he is!
I will give you an update on the rest of us next week. In the meantime, I just want to gently remind anyone who has diabetes, or loves someone who does, to please check those feet regularly. It is such a simple thing, but it is so very important.
Thank you once again for all of your concern, encouragement and kindness. It has meant more to our family than I could ever properly put into words.

A Little Joy From the Week
Our grandson Roman lost his second tooth this week…and he is absolutely delighted about it!
There is nothing quite like seeing the excitement of a little one who has a newly missing tooth and a very important appointment with the Tooth Fairy. It was certainly one of the happiest moments of our week!
I also consider it very good news that we did not lose power during the triple threat of severe weather warnings here in New Jersey. WOW! With all that rain coming down, I was beginning to think it might be time to start building an ark!

Has This Ever Happened to You?
Well…maybe not exactly this…but something like it?
I was standing by the bathroom sink when I noticed that the toilet could use a little scrub. The cleaner was not nearby, but there was a bottle of hydrogen peroxide sitting there.
Being a little lazy and not wanting to hunt down the cleaner, I poured some peroxide into the bowl and gave it a scrub. WOW…it really worked!
I may have even muttered something along the lines of, “Well, it can bleach your hair…why not the toilet?”
Then I went back to my desk, opened my email and what was sitting at the very top of my inbox?
An email about cleaning your toilet with hydrogen peroxide!
Not an advertisement…just an email!
How does that happen? Sometimes technology is a little too clever for me!
One quick safety reminder…please only use one cleaning product at a time and never combine hydrogen peroxide with bleach or another toilet cleaner.

What I’m Watching
What have you been watching lately? I would truly love to know!
My recommendation from the heart this week is Project Hail Mary.
I am not usually a three-hour-movie kind of girl. Give me a comedy that comes in around 100 minutes and I am generally very happy! But this movie held my attention from beginning to end.
Ryan Gosling carries so much of the story, and even with its long running time, I never felt the urge to wander away or start doing something else. I am not sharing any spoilers…but I will tell you that I even loved the ending… really loved it!
It is the best movie I have seen in quite a while! It’s worth your 3 hours!

A Little Something for the Weekend
Choose one small area of your home that has been bothering you…a tabletop, one kitchen counter, a bathroom shelf or even a single basket.
Give yourself fifteen quiet minutes to clear it, clean it and return only the things you truly want there. Then add one little touch that makes you smile…a flower from the yard, a favorite photograph or a pretty dish you already own.
It does not have to become a big project. Sometimes one peaceful little corner is enough to make the entire room feel better.
Thank you so much for spending part of your Saturday here with me. I hope you found something that made you smile, inspired a project or gave you a delicious idea to try.
Now I would love to hear from you…
What are you watching, reading or enjoying at home this week? Do you like this new format?
