How to Use This ALDI Board Menu
For a small gathering, you might begin with two cheeses, one or two dips, a bread or cracker selection and some fresh vegetables or fruit. Add a warm appetizer if you like, choose a few olives or stuffed peppers, and decide whether something sweet belongs alongside it.
You can use a wooden board, a serving platter, a rimmed tray or a collection of smaller dishes. There is no need to buy a special board before you begin… take a look in your own cabinets first!
For a larger crowd, just do the math and mix and match. Increase the amounts of the foods you choose, and spread everything across several platters if that makes serving easier.
A Simple Guide to Portions
These are flexible starting amounts per adult when you are serving several categories together. Choose the categories that suit your gathering… you do not need to include them all.
|
Food |
For appetizers before a meal |
For a more substantial grazing meal |
|
Cheese |
About 1 ounce |
About 2 to 3 ounces |
|
Crackers and bread |
About 4 to 6 crackers or a similar amount of bread |
About 6 to 8 crackers plus a small portion of bread |
|
Warm appetizers |
About 1 to 2 small bites |
About 3 to 4 small bites |
|
Fresh vegetables and fruit |
About ½ cup combined |
About 1 cup combined |
|
Savory dips and hummus |
About 2 tablespoons total |
About 3 to 4 tablespoons total |
|
Olives and other savory extras |
About 1 tablespoon total |
About 2 tablespoons total |
|
Optional sweets |
About 1 small piece |
About 1 to 2 small pieces |
Appetites and food sizes vary, so adjust for your guests and whatever else you are serving. A whole pierogi or egg roll is more substantial than a tiny quiche square.
The amounts are per category, not per variety. If you offer three cheeses, divide the cheese allowance among them. If you offer two dips, divide the dip allowance between those.
For example, an appetizer spread for six adults could start with about 6 ounces of cheese, 24 to 36 crackers, 6 to 12 small warm bites, 3 cups of vegetables and fruit, and ¾ cup of savory dips altogether.
Having twelve people? Double those amounts. It really can be that simple!
A Little Note About Shopping
The prices below are full package prices displayed on ALDI’s website when checked on September 20, 2026. Some are promotional prices. Local store prices, online prices, package sizes and availability may differ.
Selection and availability vary by store and season, so keep another favorite in mind… that is one reason this menu has plenty of possibilities!
For a vegetarian board, check the ingredients on your chosen cheeses and prepared appetizers, including cheese enzymes or rennet, to make sure they meet your preferences.
Dips and Hummus
How to choose:Â Start with one or two savory dips. Something mild alongside a bolder flavor gives everyone a little variety. For an appetizer spread, allow about 2 tablespoons per person across all the savory dips you choose.
Put them in small bowls first, then arrange vegetables, crackers and bread nearby so everyone can see what goes together.

Choose Your Cheeses
How to choose:Â Two or three cheeses can give a small board plenty of personality. I would choose different textures and flavors… perhaps a firm cheddar, a soft cheese and something smoky or fruity.
Allow about 1 ounce of cheese per person for appetizers when you are including other foods. Increase that to about 2 to 3 ounces if the board is becoming the meal.

Breads, Crackers and Things for Scooping
How to choose:Â Start with one cracker selection and one soft bread, or choose two crunchy options if that suits your foods better.
For appetizers, allow about 4 to 6 crackers per person or a similar portion of bread. If you serve both, divide that allowance between them. Keep extra crackers nearby so you can bring out more when needed.

Add a Warm Appetizer or Two
How to choose:Â One or two warm choices are a nice addition to a small board. For a larger gathering, offer another variety or simply make more of the favorites you already selected.
Allow about 1 to 2 small appetizer bites per person before a meal, or 3 to 4 when you are building a more substantial grazing spread. Adjust for the size of each item.
Prepare everything according to its package directions. I would serve the warm foods on their own little platter beside the cool dips and cheeses.

Olives, Stuffed Peppers and Little Savory Extras
How to choose:Â Pick two or three extras with different flavors. Perhaps one olive, one stuffed pepper and a few marinated artichokes.
For appetizers, begin with about 1 tablespoon per person across these extras, then adjust for your olive lovers! Whole stuffed peppers can be portioned by the piece instead.
Small bowls keep marinades away from crackers and make these little additions easy to serve.

Bring on the Fresh Vegetables and Fruit
How to choose: Start with three or four fresh choices in different colors. For an appetizer spread, allow about ½ cup of prepared vegetables and fruit combined per person. Increase that to around 1 cup when the board is the meal.
Here is where you can make the whole arrangement look bright and inviting without complicated decorating.

Little tomatoes that bring a beautiful pop of red to your board. Remove the stems, wash and dry them, then serve whole or halved beside fresh mozzarella or burrata. |
$4.49 • 1 lb container |
Along with those little tomatoes, try a combination of:
- Red, yellow and orange pepper strips
- Carrot sticks
- Celery sticks
- Cucumber rounds
- Zucchini slices
- Small broccoli florets
- Cleaned and trimmed button mushrooms
- Cherry or grape tomatoes as another tomato option
- Grapes in little clusters
- Strawberries or other berries
- Apple or pear slices
You don’t need every color of pepper or every fruit in the produce aisle. Choose what your family likes, what looks fresh and what fits your budget.
Wash your produce and dry it well before arranging. Keep juicy fruit and damp vegetables away from the crackers so everything stays pleasant to eat.
A Little Italian Inspiration
And of course… we have to make room for fresh mozzarella and tomatoes! Add a few basil leaves and a little drizzle of olive oil, and you have a pretty Caprese inspired pairing. Keep it on a small plate beside the crackers so the juices stay where they belong.
You could also serve the tomatoes with burrata in a shallow dish, with bread nearby for scooping. Such a simple little combination… and such a lovely addition to the table!

A Whole Board Made from Vegetables
You could also make the vegetables the main event!
Imagine red, yellow and orange peppers, carrot and celery sticks, zucchini, mushrooms and broccoli gathered around a nice dip or hummus. A generous crudité platter can be so pretty… all those colors do much of the decorating for you.
Start with the vegetables you already have, then add a few favorites from the store. The total will depend on local prices and how many full packages you need to purchase, but it is a lovely option to price out when you want a simpler spread.
A Little Something Sweet
How to choose:Â One sweet option is plenty for a small gathering. Choose two if you would like a little dessert selection, and give them their own plate or corner of the table.
Allow about one small pastry per person after a meal, or one to two pieces for a grazing gathering. If you choose dessert dip, begin with about 2 tablespoons per person plus a few dippers.

If you are offering the cannoli dip, you can use some of your fruit here, too. Just account for those portions when you make your shopping list.
Putting Your Board Together
Start with the bowls. Place your dips, hummus, olives and marinated extras where they are easy to reach. Small bowls also help divide the board into little areas.Add your cheeses. Slice some, cube some and leave a soft cheese with its own spreading knife. Different shapes make the arrangement interesting without much effort. Give burrata or a mozzarella and tomato pairing its own little dish.Bring in the color. Arrange vegetables and fruit in little groups. Fan out cucumber slices, gather pepper strips together and tuck grapes into an open space.Add the bread and crackers near serving time. Keep them away from anything wet. A little basket alongside the board works beautifully if you need more room.Serve warm appetizers on a companion platter. This makes it easier to bring out small, fresh batches while the main board holds the cool foods.Give dessert its own little spot. A small plate of baklava or a bowl of cannoli dip with strawberries can sit right beside the savory spread.Step back and see what you think. Move things around if you like… this is the fun part!A Little of Everything… An ALDI Board for Six
Let’s put our little menu to work! Here is one example that includes something from every category… creamy dips, cheese, crunchy crackers, a warm appetizer, savory extras, colorful produce and a sweet finish.
These are starting portions for six adults enjoying appetizers before a meal. You will be serving part of some packages, so tuck the extras away according to their storage directions.
|
Category |
What I would choose |
Amount to serve for six |
|
Dips and hummus |
Classic hummus and spinach Parmesan tzatziki dip |
¾ cup combined, divided between two little bowls |
|
Cheeses |
Aged white cheddar and sliced fresh mozzarella |
6 ounces combined, about 3 ounces of each |
|
Breads and crackers |
Savoritz Six Cracker Assortment |
24 to 36 crackers, choosing a few varieties from the box |
|
Warm appetizers |
Mama Cozzi’s toasted cheese ravioli |
12 pieces, prepared according to the package |
|
Savory extras |
Pitted black olives |
About 6 tablespoons, drained and placed in a small bowl |
|
Fresh vegetables and fruit |
Carrot sticks, cucumber rounds, colorful pepper strips, snacking tomatoes, grapes and strawberries |
About 3 cups combined |
|
Something sweet |
Chocolate chip cannoli dip with some of those strawberries |
¾ cup of dessert dip, with the strawberries counted in the fruit amount above |
Here’s how I would arrange it…
Start with your two savory dip bowls and the little bowl of olives. Add the cheddar, then arrange the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes together on a small plate. Tuck a few basil leaves into that little pairing if you have some.
Gather the carrots, cucumbers and peppers near the savory dips, and place the grapes beside the cheddar. Add the crackers to a few dry spaces just before serving.
Bring out the warm ravioli on a small companion plate, and give the cannoli dip and strawberries their own little dessert spot.
You now have something from every category… and you can spread it across a board and a couple of small plates you already own!
Having twelve people? Just double the amounts!
That would mean 12 ounces of cheese, 48 to 72 crackers, 24 ravioli, 6 cups of produce, 1½ cups of savory dips combined, ¾ cup of olives and 1½ cups of cannoli dip.
Compare those amounts with the package sizes before shopping… doubling the portions does not always mean buying twice as many packages.
If this is going to be dinner, use the larger portions in our grazing meal guide and adjust for your guests’ appetites.
And remember… this is just one combination! Swap the mozzarella for Brie, choose pretzel bites instead of ravioli or try the cranberry jalapeño dip. Mix and match, have a little fun and you do YOU!!!
Making a Board for a Larger Crowd
Once you have chosen your menu, multiply the portions by your guest count. Our example for six can be doubled for twelve or tripled for eighteen.
Then compare what you need with the package sizes and round up to whole packages. For dips, use the serving information on the label when converting tablespoons into containers to buy.
More guests do not mean you have to buy every product on the list. You can serve larger amounts of a few favorites or add another choice where you would enjoy the variety.
And remember… several smaller platters can be easier to serve than one enormous board. Put a vegetable platter at one end of the table, a cheese board in the middle and warm appetizers alongside them.
Keeping Everything Fresh While You Enjoy Your Company
Keep cold foods refrigerated until serving, and cook prepared appetizers according to their package directions. For longer gatherings, hold cold foods at 40°F or below and hot foods at 140°F or above.
Serve small amounts and replace nearly empty dishes with fresh ones. Discard perishable foods left at room temperature for more than two hours, or one hour when the temperature is above 90°F. You can find more details in the FDA’s buffet serving guidance.
Make It Your Own
I hope this little ALDI board menu gives you a place to begin and a few combinations you are excited to try.
You can keep it simple with vegetables and hummus, make a cozy cheese and cracker spread or put together a table full of little bites for a celebration. Use what you love, work with your budget and have fun making it your own.
The sky is the limit… and you do YOU!!!
Which foods would make it onto your board first? I would love to hear your favorite combination… and if you have an ALDI favorite I should try, please tell me!
